In 1961 integrated circuits become commercially available from the Fairchild Corporation.
Also in 1961, Grace Hopper, the women that found the first computer bug, finishes developing COBOL (COmmon Business-Oriented Language).
In 1964 IBM released its model 360 computers. Each computer in the IBM 360 line could run the same software, even though the hardware configuration varied. This line was very successful and at one point had 70% of the business computer computer market.
In 1965 Thomas Kurtz and John Kemeny of Dartmouth College developed BASIC (Beginners All Purpose Symbolic Instruction Code) as a computer language to help teach people how to program.
In 1968 Intel was founded by Robert Noyce (one of the inventors of the integrated circuit) and others.
In 1969 ARPANET is set up. ARPANET later becomes the Internet.
