Team Projects

You are encouraged to work on each of the following projects working with one or two partners, but each student will submit their own write-up. Working with your partner(s) you should first seek to understand what the project is asking you to do then carry out this work. After this, write a report describing the work you carried out. Reports should be word-processed or neatly hand-written.

Project 1: Where do all those Calories come from? (Part One)

Data due Monday April 3

Report due Wednesday April 12

This first of two related projects builds on material from the first half of the semester. It demonstrates one way that linear algebra can be used to analyze data and illustrates some of the difficulties that can appear and must be dealt with when "real" data is used.

The project description and assignment contains everything you need to get started. Early on you'll need to collect some data from nutrition labels and send it to the professor. This data must be submitted using this form by the end of the day Monday April 3..

Project 2: Where do all those Calories come from? (Part Two)

Report due Wednesday May 10

This small project uses the data you collected and analyzed for the first project.
